Customized to the dense and active metropolitan landscape of Bangkok, the Bangkok Skylofts integrate two-storey residences into an eight-storey luxury condominium. Taking advantage of the site's orientation forty-five degrees off north, a rhythmic series of vertical cast concrete louvers screen the building from direct early morning and late afternoon sunlight. Thus heat gain is significantly reduced, and greater comfort is attained using minimal energy. With no need for curtains or blinds, the dramatic vistas, spanning floor to ceiling, views are preserved. The main entrance and the common rooftop pool garden are both accented with gently curved teak canopies which take inspiration from the region's traditional watercraft.
